Hall 3.jpg

The Mayne Island Agricultural Society operates the annual Fall Fair every August. The facility and grounds are home to many popular happenings, including the busy Saturday Market during the summer and various music and arts events. The hall has attractive hardwood floors, high ceilings, a kitchen, a good stage, a projection system and is well known for its great acoustics! The adjacent grounds and band shell offer an excellent outdoor space that can be booked separately or together with the hall.  Read more and book your special event!

We receive donations of quality, usable goods from the community and resell them at affordable prices! The original thrift store has been in operation for decades, then in early 2023 a new facility was opened right next door to make room for all the great items available."The Mayne Island Thrift Store is a mecca for fashionistas, clothes hounds, working guys and gals, parents, and a great place to find whatever you forgot back home, without breaking the budget." Check here for hours and more information.

The museum is operated by the Mayne Island Agricultural Society (1962). It is located  in the Plumper Pass 1896 “Gaol” which now houses things from the people who lived, worked and played on our island. The adjacent Dalton Deacon Barn houses the larger pieces of farm machinery and appliances that have been donated to the Museum. Mayne Islanders love sharing the stories that bring our island’s heritage to life: Tsartlip First Nation (W̱JOȽEȽP), Japanese and European settlers from the late 1800’s to the mid 1900’s. The next Fall Fair will be held on Saturday, August 17th, 2024. Once again, the Agricultural Hall will be filled with the best efforts of bread bakers, gardeners, craftspeople, artists and photographers in the many divisions: Produce, Honey, Wine and Beer, Flora, Home Economics, Baking, Canning, Preserving, Needle Arts, Arts and Crafts, Fine Arts, Photography and a huge variety of children’s displays. All will be hoping for that prize blue ribbon! Outdoors you can attend events like the Annual Zucchini Race, or watch the parade go by! Look for updated Entry forms and important information closer to the date, late Spring of 2024, on the Fall Fair page!
