The Annual Fall Fair
The 97th Annual Mayne Island Fall Fair was a great success!
A family day of fun at a traditional fall fair: exhibits in the hall, a parade, entertainment, prizes and more! Please see the Fall Fair booklet for what was on In 2023.

Exhibition Entries

The 2023 Fall Fair booklet below includes the rules and regulations, the schedule of events, category divisions and entry deadlines.

Please check the Judging Standards document. The decision of the judges is final in all cases, according to the judging standards.

You may print a copy of the entry form and deliver it in person to the Ag Hall on Saturday, August 12 from 10am – 1pm, and on Monday, August 14 from 9am – 4pm.

No in person entries will be accepted after the deadline on Monday at 4pm.

OR, you may print, scan and email an entry form, or submit using the online form below, by Sunday, August 13, 5pm.

2023 Schedule of Events went as follows:

9:00 - 3:00 Road Closure: Fernhill Road (Campbell Bay Road to Minty Drive).

No parking or traffic through the parade marshalling area on Fernhill Rd.
-
Parking: Parking at School, Community Centre, Fire Hall (front only) and on the road allowance in front of the school.

Handicap parking is available at the Service Station.

Community Bus shuttle will operate to the Fair via Felix Jack Rd. Leaving every hour from the school, 10:00am - 2:00pm, and every hour from the village, 10:30am - 2:30pm (maynebus@shaw.ca)

10:00 - 3:00 Ongoing Activities throughout the Day:

Master of Ceremonies will announce door prizes & activities.
-
Local music, Farmers' Market and Community Groups on Minty.

Museum, Gaol and Barn. Children's Games, Face Painting Mr. Bubbles Balloon clown, Raffle ticket sales.

Weaving and spinning demonstration in front of the "Store Next Door".

10:00 Hall exhibits and Fair grounds open.

10:00 - 11:00 Registration for Zucchini Races for anyone who didn’t preregister.

10:00 Parade assembly at Fernhill and Campbell Bay Road
-
10:30 Parade judging starts 10:30 am.

11:00 Lions burgers, hotdogs and soft drinks open.

11:30 Parade begins.

12:00 - 12:20 Taiko drumming performance by Jakob and Amy.

12:20 - 1:00 All Trophy Awards.

1:00 - 1:15 Pender Highlanders Pipe Band.

1:15 - 2:30 Zucchini Races, please pre-register & bring your car already assembled.

1:15 Lions bingo starts.

2:30 Raffle Draw.

3:00 Exhibits can be picked up from the Hall.

3:00 Fair closes.

You must be in the assembly areas, either foot or vehicle, by 10:00am (see the map below).

Judging of floats, bikes and animals is at 10:30 a.m.

Parade starts at 11:30 a.m.
